About the Foundation

The Zroarus Foundation is the independent steward of the Zroarus ecosystem. It funds public goods, supports research and drives decentralization, starting with the Testnet.

Mission

To steward the long-term health of the Zroarus network by funding public goods, supporting research, decentralizing operations and keeping every decision open to scrutiny.

01 / Why a foundation

A network people can rely on needs a steward that nobody has to trust blindly.

Protocols outlive the companies that start them. A foundation gives a network a home that is separate from any single team, validator or token holder, so that the work nobody is paid to do — shared tooling, security review, research, education, neutral coordination — still gets done, and gets done in public.

The Zroarus Foundation operates independently of any single company, validator or team building on Zroarus. Its mandate is the long-term health of the network and the ecosystem, not any product or token. How the Foundation works, and what it does, is published openly.

02 / What the Foundation does

Stewards decentralization

Operates the Testnet's bootstrap validators while the community validator program is designed, and publishes the path to community-run validation.

The validator path →

Publishes and secures

Commissions independent audits, runs responsible disclosure and publishes advisories once fixes ship.

Security program →

Educates and convenes

Builder guides, regular office hours and community programs that bring new teams onto the network.

Boundaries

What the Foundation does not do.

It does not run funded projects

Founders keep their projects and run them. The Foundation funds work; it does not take it over, own it or operate it.

It does not control the network

Consensus is run by validators. The path from Foundation-operated to community-run validation is public.

It does not sell tokens

No sales, no promised returns. Testnet tokens have no monetary value and the Testnet may be reset.

It does not endorse projects

A directory listing is not investment advice or an endorsement.

03 / Principles

The commitments that shape everything the Foundation does.

Independent

The Foundation is not a product team, a validator or a token issuer. Its only mandate is the health of the network and its ecosystem.

Open by default

Criteria, decisions, milestones and disbursements are published. What stays private is private by written policy — reviewer identities and applicant personal data.

Honest about status

The Testnet is a test network. Tokens have no monetary value and the chain may reset. We say so everywhere, and we never present a planned network as live.

05 / Common questions

What is the Zroarus Foundation?

The independent steward of the Zroarus ecosystem. It funds open-source tooling, infrastructure, research and education; supports the move to community-run validation; publishes security advisories; and reports on what it does with its resources.

Is the Foundation the same as the team that builds Zroarus?

No. The Foundation operates independently from any single company, validator or team building on Zroarus. Its mandate is the long-term health of the network and the ecosystem, not any one product or token.

Does the Foundation take over or run the projects it funds?

No. Founders keep their projects and run them. The Foundation funds work; it does not take over, own or operate the projects it supports, and funding never gives it control of a project.

Does the Foundation control the network?

Not as a matter of design. Today the Testnet is run by Foundation-operated validators while the community validator program is designed. That is stated openly on the Decentralization page, and the goal is to hand validation over to the community.

Does the Foundation sell tokens or give investment advice?

No. The Foundation does not sell tokens, promise returns or offer investment advice. A directory listing is not an endorsement of a project.
